Spanish customs.
Art. – Bizarre Exhibit- or festival – with large sculptures made of some papier-mache type medium; on display in a public square in Spain .c. 1918. Opens w/ sculpture of a man straddling a long pipe; like a series of cylinders stretching out of larger cylinders; above it a part of something flat that looks like a wing; this is mounted very high — in BG is an upper-story balcony; Next; a tramcar filled w/ life-size papier-mache (?) people. Pan up; to a giant flying insect attached to the top of the tram; gripping it with its legs; buildings in BG. Another view of the big bug – like a dragonfly; w/ buildings in BG; emphasising that this is indeed a giant insect.
Looks like a sci-fi horror movie concept – the tram stolen by the giant bugs. Next up is a construction of a part of a church; w/ people in front. CU Man & woman sculptures sitting together on bench; man’s arm moving. CU the people outside the church. GV crowd of people gathered around some other structure – can’t see details but it does look like a parade float. Then a big ship; with various passengers; crew placed around the decks etc. — real people stand below. (Decomposition starts in this shot.) (Quality poor) crowd in street; part of it seems to be moving. Pan rt. crowd; shop buildings smoke is coming from something. Shot of another possible float.
